Of course there has to be an accident on the freeway. What should’ve taken us three hours to get there has now taken us six. That means Gabriella has been missing for over twelve hours, that’s twelve hours that Alexei has her and is doing god knows what to her. I don’t even want to picture what’s happening to her. Every time I picture something my blood runs cold and I’m not sure if I want to throw up or kill someone.

We finally pull up to the house, only this house looks more like a compound and now I wonder if we will ever get in. What are we going to do?

“Brooke, try and call Viktor, we need to get in there. Whether that means we hide in the car and you drive in, but some way we need to get in there. I know she’s here.” Stephen breaks my thoughts.

“Okay, he hasn’t answered but I will try. If he doesn’t answer we can still try to get in there. The guards know me so maybe I can get us in.”

I see her on the phone and I hear him answer. “Hey, baby, I’m sorry I didn’t call.” She cuts him off. “Vik, please tell me you didn’t do what I think you did. Please, Vik.” She turns the phone on speaker, which makes me realize she really is on our side.

“I’m so sorry baby, when you told me my father was a killer, I didn’t believe it, and I had to ask him. I know he isn’t a saint but fuck Brooke, I never thought of the man I grew up idolizing is such a monster.”

“Do you know where Gabby is, Vik? Please tell me.”

“She’s at my father’s place, Brooke, but I promise you, I’m doing everything I can to get her out.”

“No don’t, just let me in the gate, baby. Please. Just let me in.”

“You’re here? Brooke, why did you come here, I can’t lose you, I can’t!”

“I’m here with Gabby’s family, Vik.”

“I will come down and let you in, I don’t know if I would be able to get Gabby out safely, maybe they can.”

She hangs up the phone and it takes another ten minutes before Viktor opens the gates. I can tell we are all a little worried that this might be a set up. We all get out of the car and Stephen grabs Brooke and holds the gun to her head. “If you’re setting us up for your father, she dies. Do you understand me?”

“Yes. Don’t hurt her I can take you to Gabby. I’m not like my father, you have to trust me.”

“It looks like we have no choice but to trust you. But he’s not letting Brooke go until we have Gabriella in our arms and safe.” I say to him and Stephen shakes his head in agreement.

“Follow me, and I really hope you know how to use those.” He says pointing to the guns.

We say nothing only follow him. It seems very quiet in the house, making me wonder where everyone is.
